Project Pride Streetscape Projects

Phase I - Cole Avenue, McClellan Street & East Side of North Bennett Street

In 2008, the City of Bradford awarded a construction contract in the amount of $903,970 to Bob Cummins Construction Co. for Phase I Infrastructure Improvements in the Project Pride Neighborhood.  The project area consists of Cole Avenue, McClellan Street and the east side of North Bennett Street.  Improvements include new sidewalks and curbs, new street lights, repair of the existing brick on McClellan Street, repaving, decorative stamped concrete crosswalks and plantings.  Funding for the project was provided by the City of Bradford, the City’s 2006 Community Development Block Grant Program, and the Elm Street Program through the Department of Community and Economic Development.

Phase 2- North Center Street, East Side of Interstate Parkway & State Street

The City has recently awarded contracts in the amount of $369,456 for Phase II to John Anderson Construction of Warren for new sidewalks, curbs and street plantings and to Dave Kronenwetter of St. Marys for lighting improvements.  The project area for the streetscape work includes North Center Street, the east side of Interstate Parkway and State Street from Interstate Parkway to North Center Street.  Funding for Phase II is being provided by the City of Bradford and the Elm Street Program.

This work is in progress with an anticipated completion date of August 31, 2009.
