    A: You can pay your refuse, water, sewer and stormwater, as well as any invoices for miscellaneous fees
    such as permits. To do so you can just go here

  • Q: What are the hours of operation for City Hall?

    A: City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, except for holidays. The
    treasurer’s office is open from 8:05 AM until 4:20 PM.

  • Q: How do I apply for a building permit?

    A: You can apply for a building permit by visiting the City of Bradford’s Code Enforcement Office during
    regular business hours or by downloading the application from the city’s website.

  • Q: How do I sign up for city-wide alerts and notifications and events?

    A: You can sign up for city-wide alerts and notifications by visiting the City of Bradford’s website and
    clicking on the Savvy Citizen Link tab.

  • Q: How do I apply for a job with the City of Bradford?

    A: You can view current job openings and apply for a job with the City of Bradford by visiting the
    “Employment Opportunities” page on the city’s website.

  • Q: How can I obtain a Birth or Death Certificate?

    A: In Pennsylvania these documents are only available through the PA Department of Health, you can
    visiting their site by clicking here.

  • Q: How do I obtain or renew a driver license?

    A: In Pennsylvania all Driver License issues are handled by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
    you can visit their website by clinking this link PennDot.

Public Works, Parks and Refuse:

  • Q: How do I report a pothole or other road hazard on a city street?

    A: You can report a pothole on a city street by contacting the Department of Public Works at (814) 362-
    3884 ext. 121 or fill out our road hazard or email us.

  • Q: When is my garbage pickup day?

    A: Please visit the section of our website for Garbage and Recycling information by clicking here. (not
    built yet) (see attachment)

  • Q: When is my garbage pickup day?

    A:

    • There is a limit of 6 bags of garbage per household. A fee of $3.00 will be charged for 7-10 bags,
      then $1.50 for every bag over 10.
    • A $6.00 per item pick up fee will be charged for all large items such as furniture which includes,
      but is not limited to the disposal of a couch, chair, box springs, large wooden & metal furniture,
      toilets, bathtubs, bundled 4’ sections of carpeting, swing sets, etc.
    • A mattress is $10.00 per item.
    • A $10.00 pre-paid fee for Lawn waste, pick up to include 3 bags of lawn waste, $3.00 per
      additional bag. Leaves and lawn waste need to be in clear bags.
    • A $10.00 pre-paid fee for pick up of up to 3 Electronic items, $5.00 per each additional item.
      Tube televisions are a separate fee (call for current rate).
    • There will be a $35.00 per item fee for any stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, trash compactor or hot water tank. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners MUST BE FREON FREE!

  • Q: Where can I drop off my recycling?

    A:

    • Cardboard and paper and lawn waste can be dropped off at the Department of Public Works
      facility at 112 Holley Ave. There is signage to direct you where to place your items.
    • Glass and cans may be dropped off the Recycling Center located 303 High St.

Police:

  • Q: How do I report a pothole or other road hazard on a city street?

    A: You can report a pothole on a city street by contacting the Department of Public Works at (814) 362-
    3884 ext. 121 or fill out our road hazard or email us.

  • Q: How do I report a non-emergency issue to the police department?

    A: You can report a non-emergency issue to the police department by calling 814-887-4911. Note: this is the
    McKean County 911 Center, and they will answer “911 What is your emergency?” However, this is the best way to
    contact an officer for an immediate need.

  • Q: How do I obtain a pistol permit?

    A: Visit the McKean County Sheriff’s Department website by clicking here for complete information as
    they are charged with that responsibility.

  • Q: How do I obtain my Criminal history / Background?

    A: The City of Bradford Police is not able to provide you with this information. To obtain your criminal
    background history information you must utilize the Pennsylvania State Police website located here.

  • Q: How do I get a police report?

    A: by simply filling out a Right to Know request. You can click here to submit it online.

  • Q: How can I obtain a Motor Vehicle Accident report:

    A: simply click here (not available yet). Please note there will be a $15.00 fee for all Motor Vehicle
    Accident Reports.

Fire:

  • Q: Surviving a Fire?

    A:

    1. Install Smoke Detectors-Inside Every Bedroom
      -On every floor, including the basement
      -Outside every bedroom
      -Read directions before installing
      -Consider installing a full fire alarm system
    2. Test Smoke Detectors Monthly
    3. Have a Fire Escape Plan and Practice it Often
      -Have two ways out from every room, make sure that the escape windows open.
      -Consider buying a fire escape ladder if you are above the first floor.
      -Close doors on the way out.
      -Do not go back inside for any reason.
      -Make sure 911 was called.
    4. Make sure that you have homeowner’s or renter’s insurance. The property owner’s policy does not insure renter losses.
    5. Close Before You Doze
  • Q: Stopping the Spread of Fire

    A:

    1. Maintain an approved ABC type fire extinguisher in your home. It must be mounted where it will be visible and accessible in case of fire.
    2. It should have a gauge to show that the unit is properly charged.
    3. Have the fire extinguisher serviced at regular intervals.
    4. Check the pressure gauge weekly.
    5. Learn how to use the fire extinguisher.
    6. Keep doors closed whenever possible.
    7. When leaving a burning building, close all doors on the way out.
    8. Keep combustible and storage to a minimum.
    9. Consider placing storage in an approved storage facility.
    10. Do not place storage on stairs, exit paths or block exit doors and windows.
    11. If you smell smoke, see fire, smell gas or think there is a fire in your home or nearby, call 911.
    12. Keep a portable phone or cell phone nearby the fire exit so that you can call after leaving the building. If it doesn’t work call from a neighbors home.
  • Q: Smoking

    A:

    1. Smoking area must be provided with deep, non-combustible, non-tip ashtrays.
    2. Empty ash trays into a metal trash can unless the butts are absolutely and completely out and/or water soaked.
  • Q: Cooking

    A:

    1. Do not leave the kitchen while cooking; this remains the major cause of fires.
    2. Be very careful when heating oil, an approved deep fryer should be used when cooking with lots of oil since they have safety controls installed.
  • Q: Use of Extension Cords

    A:

    1. Discard old extension cords (cracked, twisted, damaged or over twenty (20) years old.)
    2. Do not run through any ceiling, floor, wall or doorway.
    3. Do not run under carpets or mats etc.
    4. Must be over twelve (12′) feet long except for temporary use, such as weed control.
    5. Should be visible for inspection
    6. Must not be restricted or pinched at any point.
    7. Do not push beds, sofas, cabinets against the plug.
